Bar, this is a little overlong but I thought others might enjoy the memory your post brought back.

I almost called you Friday to see if you had ever been to the Oregon Country Fair. I thought it might be a good break. The Fair started the year Gloria and I were married,1969, and in keeping with the times was a 60's, tied dyed hippie affair. Focused on getting completely away from the crazy times for a earthy celebration. You just had to walk around and inhale if you wanted a pot buzz. In 1972 we saw Jerry Garcia and The Grateful Dead play the fair. A very simple time back then and not as complete with merry making, crafts, food as it is now.

We took the kids a couple of times in the early 90's when they reached their teens and they still refer to it as one of their best memories growing up. Especially the guy wearing a leather cowboy hat, leather vest and full leather chaps with nothing under them. The Naked Butt Cheeks Man! Our family has cracked up about that experience ever since.

I thought of you because your personality, artistic bones, musical talent, all would have fit so perfectly back then and they would now. Your Lady Liberty ensemble for the Grand Parade! So glad you went. ❤️

As someone who doesn't particularly like county fairs, this one looks magical!
