With all credit to Robby for capturing the thought, and to Matsuo Basho who really knew how to use the traditional 5-7-5 form, and with great trepidation before the very discerning folks who post here regularly, here is what a haiku might look like:
Dear Sarah, thank you as always. I wanted to use ‘awesome’ as it was meant to be used but held myself back, but that view of the ocean is exactly that. ❤️
I love memory stones, place holders of our life’s precious moments
Indeed. ❤️
A smooth stone - free of hard edges and imperfections. I carry one with me... rub my thumb over the oval... feel at-peace. xo
nice. I felt that today too. I'll keep it in my pocket for that purpose.
Except for all the extra syllables, feels like a haiku! (Also, what a nice place to live.)
What a nice thing to say. Thank you. And yes, it’s a great place to live. I would like you to tell me what part of that would make for a good haiku??
…or maybe you could write it…
Robby, please see posts that follow and what you inspired. You’re up next.

Forest opens, blue ocean appears
Fresh Spring air, waves, footprints in sand
Moment captured in a stone
Sorta...
Oh I love this! Makes me smile bigly. Thank you.
Here’s a better one from another Bill you know:
Sudden winter wind:
down from beech trees’ silver limbs
leaves of copper drift
You’re on a roll, Bill! Keep going. Post ‘em all. Just great. Thank you.
Oh how I love this!
Half the planet rising up to meet you.
The human-free beach.
And that pebble, made smooth by all that tossing around.
Just perfect.
