You’re right! I guess that explains why we look sooooo much younger in that first picture. It makes me remember the details of the tension of that year… It also assures me of what my father always says (still says): this too shall pass. It reminds me that creating joy is the most important thing and that sure is what we were doing on Saturday. I hope you were too! Xo
Hi Chrisy, it was fun and it was meaningful for those of us who were there. The news of each day is just too weird and difficult to deal with. A little joy was just what we needed (and always need). Thank you!
The sneakers make the outfit work! Glad you were out at the No Kings gatherings. Us, too! Felt good to DO SOMETHING and feel like others want to do something, too. I felt better, even if it doesn't change anything directly.
I wondered if anyone would notice that. The shift from sandals/heels in 2016 (2012 actually, as my friend Annie Scholl Hampton clarified above) struck me too. Middle- to aging-years old! It was fun. Glad you could go too. ❤️
No Kings!
That's what the Fourth of July is about.
Love it! But I’m pretty darn sure you wore it when I was in Westcliffe in 2012! :-) I loved that parade and being there with you and Brent!

And oh how I loved the pictures of Lady Liberty looking so happy!!!
She was, and I was too! Democracy in action which was gratifying. Been missing it.
Love this! And a beautiful Statue of Liberty you were and still are! Looks like you had a beautiful day for the No Kings rally!

I saw several statues of liberty! How fun that one of them was you!
Me too! One in velvet. Much better!! Glad you were there, Amy. What a blast and so good for us.
I love this!!! It was indeed an uplifting, reenergizing day of solidarity that we needed. I made sure to savor and imprint the feeling.
