Love this! We are lucky in our lives that we have the time- and the love- to share with one another. Your kind acts will rub off on others. Our country needs more kindness like this every day.

Thanks Bar 🩷

Agree wholeheartedly. There’s a lot of money in our system that could be spent helping people grow and thrive. I would like to see the balance shift radically. We would all be better off in so many ways. In the meantime, these small acts…they also do a lot of good. I had a better day as a result and so did Marie. Motor on, Chrisy. Enjoy it all.

You’re so welcome, Bar! And just so you know, all of these flower photos I’ve been posting remind me of you. I’m always trying to take photos as good as yours!

That’s our Bar! ❤️ You gave Marie a gift of dignity and self worth. She wasn’t invisible. And your question is a good one, we should help how and when we can. Each one help one.

And, Dear Bar, you are not obligated into perpetuity. At least that’s what this Senior thinks. Marie can and should boost her feelings of independence and responsibility that she shows on her trips to the bus stop by connecting with Dial-A-Bus and faith groups who offer transportation assistance. Better than the City Bus, especially with our NW weather.

Helping her get connected with those resources would be a logical continuation of your gift to Marie, and recognize the value of your time. I’m being a little selfish here but you are the only Bar we’ve got! 🤗

Sweet Bill. Thank you for your endless kindness. Marie does use Dial a bus when she can so she knows about that. I’ll look into the other ideas you suggest so I’m prepared when/if she calls again. She rides the public bus into town everyday. Pretty remarkable. My sense is that she’s actually overly cautious about asking for help so I don’t think she’ll lean on any one person except herself until she can’t. Our society isn’t so great at elder care for the less advantaged or anyone with too little for that matter. But I’ll tell you what, Marie is a strong, determined woman. She’s got family and friends so I think she’ll be ok in the long run. I admire your mom’s mantra: each one help one. I wish I’d known her.
