BEST ever! Love this. I know tie a tie, too, from my waitressing days. If Amir and Omar come back with a crew of pals who don't know how, you can call on me, and I'll help! xo
Mostly, my own. I got pretty good at it! We had nice uniforms. Beautiful, vertical stripes in blue or red, long white cafe aprons, and gorgeous ties, florals, I recall. We were fancy! Union Square Cafe in the 80s. I was much younger then! xo
Dear Julie, thank you. It’s a good skill to have and fun to learn! You two will have fun with it. Nice to see you yesterday. I left there, went to New Morning and wrote this blog so it was a good day.
Dear Esther, Thank you. Sorry to take so long. Summer's supposed to be quieter, but my goodness, I've been goin'! Thanks for reading that story. it's one I love and hold dear.
I so love this story!
Me too! Thank you, Becky. I’m glad you did.
The very BEST kind of story! Made my day.
Thanks, Cack. I assumed Da taught you too??
Yes, Indeed! A very WASPy thing to learn. Have found it extremely useful in dealing with various non WASP men in my life.
Now that made me laugh. Thank you!
ok. ok. But ... is it one or two loops? I've done both and was never quite sure which I liked more. :)
You two crack me up.
So glad to see you here, Arthur. We’ve been making us laugh for a very long time. Lucky us!
Two loops looks bulkier except with a silk tie. It also stays up tight longer. Depends on what you have and how you want to look.
you're a master tie tier!! xoxo

Did you tie your customer’s ties? Your colleague’s? Yours? All of them? You’re probably an expert. Mine were pretty iffy.

Whole different thing tying your own. Really not sure I could do that! Brava!!
I think it's easier doing it to myself, than tying it on someone else! xo
PS Thank you, Nan. It was a sweet moment in time. Love those moments.
Yup. They bring meaning to my life in such lovely ways. xo
What a heartwarming story! I don't know how to tie a tie, but I'll ask my husband to teach me... just in case.
Just in case! I love that. Thank you, Doris.
Such a sweet story, one you will never forget. What a treat that must have been. Thanks for sharing, Julie

Dear Sarah, Thank you. It was a sweet afternoon for me. A real deep gift. xo
Lovely!
Thank you, Shannon. I hope life in CO is treating you well and that the wildflowers are up and out.
How incredibly wonderful. I think that they will remember you always.
Your “mother” light must have been shining like a beacon. The universe heard.
Dear Candace, Candy, never know which you prefer…that is such a nice thing to say. Thank you. ❤️
Wonderful share! Made my insides feel like honey! Thank you!

What a great story!!!! Encounters like that are priceless.
They are. This one's stuck with me all these years. Still have their pictures on my phone.
